I forrige uke var rockblogg på John Dee for å høre rockebandet Angels Motel presentere sin kommende plate «Lovestorm & Temporary Honeys». Med nøytrale forventinger som utgangspunkt, ble dette en veldig god og positiv opplevelse. Bandet leverte absolutt solide låter og det som imponerte meg mest var presisjon, samspill og produksjon. Gitarist Christer André Cederberg, kjent fra blant annet Animal Alpha og vokalist/gitarist Stein Roger Sordal spilte knallgodt sammen. Jeg har bare ett ord; heftig!
Angels Motel er nokså ferskt som band (oppstart i slutten av 2008), men gutta har god og bred erfaring fra andre musikalske prosjekter.

Musikken til Angels Motel ligger i samme gate som Muse, noe som kan høres godt i låtene: «Dance On The Edge Of The World»og «Echo». To fantastiske låter med tyngde og herlig kraft.
«Ruby Monday» er en behagelig, ruslende ballade. Første gang jeg hørte ”Ruby Monday” fikk jeg en umiddelbar musikalsk assosiasjon i retning A-HA, uten at dette gjenspeiler resten av låtene. Låtene kan forøvrig høres på Myspacesiden til Angels Motel!
Jeg har også lyst til å trekke frem vokalen til Stein Roger Sordal. Han synger til tider eksepsjonelt bra. Stødig og klokkerent!
Bandet har, som tidligere nevnt, laget plate men står foreløpig uten platekontrakt. Etter min mening er det merkelig at ingen plateselskap har snappet opp og ”signet” dette bandet. Hallo, hvor er dere?
